My name is Todd and I play the bass, no not the fish, the bass guitar. I really like fish, and I like to fish, but I can't imagine standing on a stage trying like hell to get the correct tone out some big, wet, floppy, wiggly thing - can you? I've been playing my bass for years. Now, I don't get paid a whole lot for playing the bass but it sure makes me happy, puts a smile on my face, and sometimes even makes me type stuff on my bio page that really isn't appropriate. Unlike a lot of my peers, I didn't start out playing guitar, nope not me. The first time I went to a music store and picked up one of those four string suckers it just felt right. People have an affinity towards playing the bass. As a matter of fact, the entire front line of DSD is comprised of bass players, three fourths of which have converted to instruments and positions of lesser import. Where this is going I haven't the foggiest. ...Brevity is the soul of wit... but I have problems being concise so bear with me. What I've always enjoyed is being on a stage with my bass and the guys in the band; to me that's home, that's were I feel comfortable, and that's were I can be me at my best. In the late 80s and early 90s I toured the U.S.A with a band called "Petty Theft", another commonality most everyone in this band has, at some point in their music career, and it was an experience I'll never forget, and one that I'd do all over again. When people go nuts while you're playing it humbles you as to how important music is and how lucky those of us that play it are. I've got a college degree, good job, ugly car, I own my own place, but none of that is nearly as cool as family, friends, and playing the bass. In my spare time, what of it I have, I like to be active. Anything to get out of the house is a blessing. Throughout the week I participate in Tahng Soo Do at Korguryo Martial Arts, in Westerville. This has become one of my favorite activities and I highly suggest it to anyone that wants to keep in shape, learn a defense skill, or just achieve some semblance of balance and peace in their life. I also love to fish especially bass fishing, an activity I have little time for unfortunately. Go figure, I play the bass so I guess it stands to reason that I would like to fish for bass, or maybe it doesn't - whatever. For those of you that are interested in my gear, check out the gear page and also make sure you stop by www.mtdbass.com, all you bass players, to see what I think is the best bass on the market. Can't wait to jam with ya! - Todd
